Where does the term FML come from?
Sometimes I sit and wonder where the things that we say today originated. Like, was someone just sitting outside on the steps of their apartment one day after a hard day thinking, “hmm F- my car, F- my dog, F- my cat, F-my bills, F- my cell phone, F- the environment, F- the ecosystem, F- you, F- him, F- her, F- them, F-it…” until they came to the final “F- my life, hmm that has a ring to it”.
I mean really? What does it take for someone to come up with something like that? Since when is it ok to use an obsenity right infront of what keeps you alive… your life?? The very thing that your mom spent 12 hours in labor to give you (well 102 for me but thats beside the point). I know if I ever went home saying … “Today, I fell asleep in the kitchen and I dreamed that I was meeting Michelle Obama on a hot summer day, so hot that the leather seats in my car were impossible to touch. When I went to shake her hand I woke up with my hand on the stove with 3rd degree burns FML!” my mom would have a fit, saying things such as
…”I was not in labor, pushing for an entire week for you to say FML. I’m the reason you have that life. Your life belongs to me, I’ve got a receipt. *pulls out hospital bill from 1987*”
But yeah while sites like fmylife.com are HILARIOUS, and I’m not saying that fmylife.com isnt bookmarked in my favorites and top visited in my favorits, but I was just thinking hmm isnt FML a little harsh?
What happened to the good old days of “Oh Snap!?? ahh hooray for multipurpose exclamations!

Wanda Sykes!!
Smells like summer’s coming up and with that is the concert of the year! Wanda Sykes will be performing and of course, I’ll be there to enjoy it with a good friend of mine. Ahh she’s so funny! I cant wait to let the belly laughs roll! I hear during her live shows that she picks on people from the audience, well if thats the case then I’ll do my best to make sure I stand out. I wont leave until she acknowledges me … either during a joke or by calling security because of the fan that won’t leave until he gets an autograph.

So as I’m sitting in Microbiology lab right now, I’m thiking that its time to share my all time favorite microbe with everyone. Campylobacter jejuni. It’s one of the most fragile of them all, like a ramen noodle .. only skinnier which makes it my favorite.
Next time you bite into a peice of chicken be warned, theres a 98% chance that the chicken you’re eating was a carrier!
